The Gathering Guesthouses presents The Cottage.  Built in 1933 as a red cinder block storage building, the Cottage was used for storage until remodeled in 2009 as a private guest house.  The Cottage boasts the original feel of a historic building with the charm of modern comfort.  A primary design feature is the roll top tub in the master bedroom separated from the king size bed by a red brick double sided gas fireplace.  The private outdoor courtyard utilizes an early 1900s copper fixture for the outdoor shower, private hot tub, fire pit, television, and customized solar shades.  Book today and begin to relax and renew at The Cottage.

Romantic getaway

We have been here for almost 4 hours and never want to leave. If this place had a 2 burner range we could live here forever. The attention to detail in every way possible is perfect and all so welcoming. We will be referring this group to everyone and surely be back at one of these great locations in this quaint community.

We loved it!

We came across a listing for The Pumphouse while looking for a place to stay in Fredericksburg (first time for my husband). Unfortunately it was booked but The Cottage was not. We really loved the outdoor area - we watched the Super Bowl while sitting by the fire pit and hanging in the hot tub. My husband is the pickiest person in the world and even he loved it. In fact, we can't wait to come again - he's dying to stay in The Hideaway next time. Maybe even a big family vacation in The Farmhouse. This property is definitely the best place in Fredericksburg to stay!

Lovely Escape!

Wow! My husband and I stayed at The Cottage for two days and nights. We went to celebrate our 11 year anniversary. We haven't spent a single day or night away from our little ones until our short trip to Fredericksburg. All we have talked about since, is how much we miss our time there. The Cottage was SO clean (I'm neurotic and have high expectations) and it was so cozy and romantic. Our favorite spot was the private backyard with the fire pit, hot tub and T.V. This trip changed our marriage and we are so grateful! It was affordable for us too which was the biggest blessing when you have three little ones. Brenda Carney, the manager, is precious and so kind! Thank you for having us. We remembered how much we love each other while we stayed at The Cottage.

This Cottage was perfect!! Everything was adorable. It was super close to Main Street. Just a small drive. The property manager helped us so much with booking this. Everything was clean and perfect! We will definitely be going back.

We loved staying at the cottage! The decor was simple yet stunning, the bed was comfortable and the gas fireplace was perfect! We can’t wait to visit again..

Thanks so much for staying with us. Glad you were able to get away. Come back soon!

Cute but Cliché

After coming across The Gathering Guesthouses in Texas Monthly, my then fiancé and I thought it would be perfect for our honeymoon. It looked cute but not overly posh, private, and clean...all of our expectations were met! We loved having our own space to just relax and hang out, yet The Gathering Guesthouses are also close enough to Main Street that it was no hassle to go into town. Unfortunately, the fireplace was not working when we were there. However, the owner, Michael, came and looked at it and even had a repairman out to look at it. The Cottage was the perfect place for my husband and I’s honeymoon, and we hope to come back someday!

The cottage is literally the cutest little spot we have ever stayed in! Perfectly designed for a couples getaway. The whole vibe of the property is chill. Michael the owner was out doing some landscaping as we checked in he was very nice and accommodating. Don't stay anywhere else because this little spot is perfect!

We really enjoyed “the cottage”! It met or exceeded all of our expectations. From the design to the cleanliness, it was perfect for our anniversary trip. The hot tub just made it perfect. Everything was well thought out and we couldn’t have asked for more. We are already planning our next stay in one of the Gathering properties.

Anniversary Getaway

This Cottage was perfect!! We both loved it and can’t wait to come back. This was a perfect anniversary get-a-way! We especially loved the Christmas lights and the cat! I also loved my visit with Brenda at the fire pit!

We stayed 3 days and looked forward to returning to the Cottage each evening. This get-a-way is exactly what we were hoping for. We will be staying again.
